Notes on Use
The roaster is suitable for BO240/241, BO250/251
and BO270/271. You will need the separately
available heating element and the pull-out rack.
Insert the pull-out rack on the lowest level into the
oven compartment. Put the wire rack onto the pull-
out rack. Put the roaster onto the wire rack.
You can use the roaster with BO220/221 or in the
steam oven, but without the roaster function. In the
BO220/221 you will need the pull-out rack which is
available separately . In the steam oven, insert the
roaster directly into the racks on the sides of the
oven compartment. The handles of the roaster have
to face to the front and rear.
The roaster is also suitable for searing meat on an
induction hob with a diameter of 28 cm. Do not heat
up the roaster when empty. This will damage the
non-stick coating. Do not use the roaster on an
electric or gas cooker.
You can easily prepare large quantities of food in
the roaster. You can prepare meals and then leave
them in the oven. The roaster will keep meals warm
until you serve them. Your kitchen will have a tidy
appearance while you are serving meals and the
hob will not be soiled because each meal is finished
off in the oven.
Start roasting at a temperature between 190 and
220 °C and continue at between 130 and 160 °C.
You can also use the roaster to cook large roasts or
pieces of fish because its output, heat replenish-
ment and size are generously dimensioned.
In the roaster, you can brown pieces of meat
without a lid, and you can continue stewing with the
lid fitted.
Contrary to the hob, you can choose the browning
and continued cooking temperatures exactly.
Always roast with the door closed. Only open the
oven door briefly to turn, stir or pour juices onto
food, otherwise the temperature will not be kept
constant. During roaster operation the oven
continues to heat for some time even when the oven
door is open.

Fitting the roaster's heating element
For the roaster operation, you need the separately
available heating element. You can also use this
heating element for baking stone operation.
Remove the cover from the socket in the rear panel
of the oven. Plug the heating element into the
socket.
Note: for normal baking operations, remove the
roaster heating element from the oven.
Stewing in the roaster
Stewing is a combination of brief browning in a
small amount of fat and slow continued cooking.
The solid cast metal of the roaster ensures
excellent, uniform distribution of heat. Thanks to the
non-stick coating, you only need to use small
amounts of fat and can therefore cook very healthy
and low-calorie meals.
Plug in the roaster's heating element. Place the
roaster on the pull-out rack on the lowest level into
the oven compartment. Close the oven door. Set
the roaster function and the required temperature.
The temperature can be set up to 220 °C in the
roaster program.
Wait until the heating up symbol goes off before you
insert the food into the roaster. Briefly brown the
food without the lid. Pour sufficient amounts of
cooking fluid. Fit the lid and stew the food at the
required temperature.
