INSTALLATION DESIGN
In order to ensure the highest performan-
ce while protecting people, the product
itself and the environment, a full project
has to be developed before carrying out
the installation.
The design phase should take into
account the technical data of the engine
(see"Technical data") and all the risks whi-
ch may occur during its expected lifetime,
from installation to disposal.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ADJUSTMENTS
Before carrying out any adjustment, acti-
vate all safety devices and evaluate the
need to inform the personnel working on
the engine or nearby. In particular, place
proper signs in the nearby areas and keep
away all devices which, once activated,
HOW TO ADJUST THE TENSION OF THE DRIVING BELT
Follow the procedure below.
1- Turn off the engine and remove the
ignition key.
2- Let the engine cool down adequately
to avoid being burnt.
3- Loosen nut (A).
4- Adjust alternating current genera-
tor (B) manually and at the same time
tighten nut (A) to regulate belt tension.
To check belt tension, use the method
shown in figure. The resulting shifting
(R) must be 10 mm.

During the design and installation
phase, it is a good idea to consult the
installation manual drawn up by VM
MOTORI as this contains the installa-
tion guidelines.
