Static IP configuration is similar, but requires slightly different configuration. Using the touchscreen or Alpha
Toolbox, on the leading and trailing controller set the toggle button to OFF for 'Obtain IP Address from Network'
parameter. Then enter an IP Address and Subnet Mask values for both controllers. Remember to keep the IP
Addresses similar but not exactly the same while keeping the Subnet Mask values the same. Lead spindle
toggle button is turned to OFF then type the IP Address of the lead controller into the LEAD IP parameter of the
trailing controller. The selectable lead spindle port will be having the IP of plant network/dynamic host
configuration protocol(DHCP). When the lead spindle toggle button is turned ON then the selectable lead
spindle port will be having the IP of Alpha tool box/Static IP.
Setup -> Communication -> TCP/IP -> Obtain IP From network
When a set of controllers are attempting to pair, they notify the user by flashing controller and tool red, yellow,
and green status lights and displaying a message requesting the user accept the trailing spindle.
Press the OK interactive menu button to accept the new spindle connection. Press the Cancel interactive menu
button to decline the new spindle connection. After connection, the lead spindle will add the new spindle as a
tab on the run screen.
