4.3.14 Instrument detection with the MF socket
Note:
Since KARL STORZ produces only one multi-function (MF) instrument, there is no need to
check for any other. For ERBE instruments, which also fit, an error message should appear if
an adapter is used for simulation.
Note:
This test item is not applicable to device versions -111 or -112 (but does also apply to U111
and U112 versions). The detection of 26176LEB(L) cable for the multi-function socket is
implemented in versions –113 to –116 and U113 to U116.
When the cable is plugged into the MF socket, the following message will appear: "A-95: Instrument
recognized at MF socket". If the cable is removed from the MF socket, the following message will
appear: "A-9F: MF instrument disconnected".
Note:
If non-compatible cables are plugged in, this will lead to the appearance of an "incompatible"
error message.
