WARNING: During bead breaking, care must be taken not
to deform the tyre too much as this may damage it.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of damage to the valve
and the pressure sensor (if installed), only break the
bead with the valve and sensor at 90° to the bead
breaker pressure point (at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock).
Before proceeding with the bead breaking procedure,
it is essential to identify the type of tyre being
worked on (especially when working on RUN FLAT,
LOW PROFILE or UHP tyres).
The bead breaker arm of the TC 450 - Liga C 270 has 2 working positions (see
Fig. G/4 and G/5):
- the position shown in Fig. G/4 is recommended for working on wheels with rims
up to 10" wide;
- the position shown in Fig. G/5 is recommended for working on wheels with rims
more than 10" wide;
The angle of incidence of the bead breaker blade varies depending on the position
chosen.
To change from one working position to the other, proceed as follows:
- extract the peg (1).
- turn the blade by hand until the hole on the hub is in the other position;
- fit the peg (1) in the new position.
N.B.: The blade angle can also be increased by moving the rod to the right, for
easier bead breaking on small-diameter rims
WARNING: NEVER break the bead of rims less than 6" wide
with the bead breaker arm in the "+10" working position.
WARNING!
During mounting and demounting, the well, i.e. the deepest part of the rim closet to the external edge,
must be placed upwards.
Check the position of the well during bead breaking to ascertain if the rim is a standard one or has a reverse rim.
1) Check to make sure there are no weights on the rim.
2) Depress the pedal (7, Fig. E) to bring the arm (11, Fig. E) to its non-working position.
3) Pull the knob outwards (1) to adjust the position of the turntable according to the thickness of the tyre (see Fig. H/1 and Fig. H/2):
- with the turntable as shown in Fig. H/1, wheels up to 280 mm (11") can be mounted/demounted;
- with the turntable as shown in Fig. H/2, wheels up to 370 mm (14,5") can be mounted/demounted.
4) The rim can be clamped on the turntable from the inside or the outside.
