RISK of fatal injury due to explosive atmo-
sphere!
If the monitors are not connected correctly,
there is a risk of fatal injury due to explosion
if used in potentially explosive areas! Al-
ways have the connection carried out by an
electrician. If the pump is used in potentially
explosive areas:
• the temperature monitor must be connected
via an evaluation relay. We recommend the
"CM-MSS" relay for this. The threshold is
already preset.
• Deactivation by the temperature limiter
must be conducted with an anti-reactivation
device! Reactivation should only be possible
if the "release button" has been manually
activated!
• The electrode for the sealing chamber monitor
must be connected via an intrinsically safe cir-
cuit with an evaluation relay! We recommend
the "ER 143" relay for this. The threshold is
30 kOhm.
• Also note the additional information in the
appendix!
Motor chamber monitor
• The motor chamber monitor (moisture sen-
sor) must be connected via an evaluation relay.
We recommend the "NIV 101/A" relay for this.
The threshold is 30 kOhm.
When the threshold is reached, the unit must
switch off.
Motor temperature monitor
• Bimetal sensors can be connected directly in the
switchgear.
Connection values: max. 250 V(AC), 2.5 A,
cos φ = 1
• PTC sensors (in accordance with DIN 44082) must
be connected via an evaluation relay. We recom-
mend the "CM-MSS" relay for this. The threshold
is already preset.
• Depending on whether there are one or two tem-
perature circuits, the following must be triggered
when the threshold is reached:
• Temperature limitation (1 temperature circuit):
When the threshold is reached, the unit must
switch off.
• Temperature control and limitation (2 tempera-
ture circuits): When the threshold for the low
temperature is reached, an early warning can
occur. When the threshold for the high tem-
perature is reached, the unit must switch off.
• When used within explosion-protected areas
the following applies:
• the temperature monitor must be connect-
ed via an evaluation relay. We recommend
the "CM-MSS" relay for this. The threshold is
already preset.
• Deactivation by the temperature limiter must
be conducted with an anti-reactivation device!
Reactivation should only be possible if the "re-
lease button" has been manually activated!

For this reason, no warranty claims can be accept-
ed for any damage to the winding resulting from
unsuitable motor monitoring.

Monitoring the sealing chamber
• The sealing chamber is monitored by an elec-
trode. This must be connected via an evaluation
relay. We recommend the "NIV 101/A" relay for
this. The threshold is 30 kOhm. When the thresh-
old is reached, a warning must be given or the
unit switched off.
• When used within explosion-protected areas
the following applies:
• The electrode must be connected via an evalu-
ation relay. We recommend the "ER 143" relay
for this. The threshold is 30 kOhm. When the
threshold is reached, a warning must be given
or the unit switched off.
• The connection must be made using an intrin-
sically safe circuit. Connection values:
max. 30 Vrms (60 V peak)
max. 60 VDC
max. 0.5 mA
CAUTION!
If there is only a warning, the pump could be
irreparably damaged by water ingress. We al-
ways recommend deactivation!

Monitoring the leakage chamber
• A float switch is used to monitor the leakage
chamber. This is equipped with a potential-free
NC contact. The switching capacity is shown in
the respective wiring diagram.
When the float switch is activated, a warning
must be given or the unit switched off.
