WARNING
The cord suddenly retracting ("kickback")
can pull your hand and arm forward
faster than you can react. This could
cause injury (breaks, dislocation,
grazes).
Pull the cord slowly until you begin to
feel resistance. Then pull quickly.
Note:
If the engine is flooded, set the throttle
to the FAST position (S, fig. 5.1.) and crank
the engine repeatedly until its starts.
5. Starting the engine electrically (optional): Turn
the key to starting position and hold it there
until the engine starts.
Note:
If the engine does not start within 5
seconds, release the key and wait at least 10
seconds before repeating.
6. After the engine has started, move the throttle
from CHOKE position to FAST position.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

1. Move the throttle to SLOW (T, fig. 5.1.)
position, let the engine cool down for a while
and then move the throttle to STOP (U, fig.
5.1.) position.
2. Release the engine safety brake lever if the
model is equipped with one (on the
equipment).
3. Close the fuel shut-off valve, if the engine is
equipped with it.

6. ENGINE OIL

Recommended oils
The oil is the main factor that influences
power and operating service life. Use engine
oil for four-stroke engines.
We recommend you use SA 10W-30 oil. If
the average temperature in the location
where the engine is being used falls within
the recommended range, you can also use
an oil of a different viscosity, see table.
The data about SAE viscosity and API
servicing classification is given on the label
on the oil container. Use API SJ and higher
classification oils.
Do not use any special additives.
EN
Note:
At temperatures under 4 °C, using SAE 30
oil makes it difficult to start. At temperatures
under 27 °C, using SAE 10W-30 class oils may
increase consumption. Check the oil level more
frequently.
Checking / adding more oil
6.2)
Position the engine so it is level.
Wipe off all dirt and debris from the area
surrounding the oil gauge.
1. Unscrew the dipstick (G) from the neck and
wipe it with a clean rag.
2. In models with a short dipstick (see fig. 6.1)
insert the dipstick into the neck, but do not
screw it in. In models with an extension (see
fig. 6.2) you must screw the dipstick into the
neck.
3. Withdraw the dipstick to visually establish
the oil level. Make sure that the oil level is at
the FULL (MAX) mark on the dipstick.
4. If the oil level is low, pour more oil slowly and
carefully into the filler neck. Do not overfill.
Wait a minute after adding oil and then check
the oil level again.
5. Fit the dipstick and screw it on tight.
WARNING Operating the engine with insufficient
oil may permanently damage it.

7. FUEL

Use clean, fresh lead-free petrol with a
minimum octane number of 86.
Petrol with a maximum ethanol content of
10%, or up to 15% MTBE (methyl-tert-butyl
ether), is permitted.
WARNING Do not use unapproved petrol, such
as E85. Do not add oil to the petrol or modify the
engine for use of alternative fuels. These could
damage the engine components, which would
invalidate the engine warranty. Mix a fuel
stabiliser into the fuel to protect the fuel system
and prevent gum formation. Not all fuels are the
same. This engine is certified for operating with
