1.1. Safety instructions
Scope of application
The sole purpose of the water recycling system
AquaCycle 2500 is to treat shower and bath
water to produce high-quality process water.
You can use this water for toilet flushing, as
well as for watering gardens and cleaning
work.
If the system is operated and maintained
correctly, it provides water of a consistently
high quality in accordance with the hygiene /
microbiological requirements of the EU
Directive governing the quality of bathing water
(dated 08.12.1975) and Table 3 of the fbr
information sheet H201 (dated January 2005).
The manufacturer and vendor are not liable for
damage arising from incorrect use of the
system.
Requirements for use
The process water mains must be free of
•
microscopic leaks. Damage caused by
microscopic leaks renders the
manufacturer's warranty void.
The system must be installed and operated
•
in accordance with the state of the art. The
regulations DIN 1988 T1 TO T8, DIN 1986,
DIN EN 1717, DIN 2403, DIN EN 12056,
TrinkwV 2001 must be observed.
The limit values stated in the Technical
•
Data must not be exceeded under any
circumstances (for the technical data, see
the corresponding chapter in the Operating
Manual).
The quality of the fed-in rainwater
•
(customer's installation) must correspond
to the quality as defined in the
Fachvereinigung Betriebs- und
Regenwassernutzung e.V. (fbr) information
sheet H201. Otherwise, Pontos cannot
accept any responsibility for the quality of
the process water.
Use only the process water from Stage 3
•
for the filter backflush and the cleaning
hose connected to the pipeline. Never use
drinking water!
The grey water infeed and the Stage 1 and
•
Stage 2 tanks must be ventilated
separately - via the roof if possible.
The installation room must be sufficiently
•
aerated and ventilated, and also frost-
proof.
There must be a floor drain in the
•
installation room.
The customer must provide the pressure
•
booster system.

The following types of waste water must
not be introduced:
Kitchen waste water,
•
Waste water from washing machines and
•
dishwashers,
waste water containing sewage,
•
waste water containing colorants (paint
•
residues, textile dyes and hair dyes),
waste water from medical sludge baths,
•
heavily foaming waste water.
•
Toxic liquids or liquids containing chlorine.
•
Aquarium water
•
Scope of validity
Operators outside the Federal Republic of
Germany should regard the safety regulations
outlined here as a basis, compare them with
the locally applicable regulations and make
any necessary changes on site.
Why you should read this manual
This manual contains important information
about how to operate the system safely,
correctly and economically. This must be
followed in order to ensure the system's
reliability and to prevent hazards.
If you require additional information or
instructions, or if damage occurs, please
consult your contract partner or dealer.
Dangers if the manual is not observed
Non-observance of the safety instructions can
have dangerous consequences:
Danger to people
•
Danger to the environment
•
Damage to the water recycling system
•
Inspection and assembly work
As the operator, you must ensure that all
inspection and assembly work is carried out by
a customer service expert or a service
technician.
The installation work must be carried out in
accordance with DIN 1988 T1 to T8 and DIN
EN 1717.
If you carry out work on the system yourself,
the wearing of suitable work safety clothing is
compulsory in order to prevent injury to the feet
(e.g. from falling parts), to the hands (e.g. from
sharp edges or broken glass) and to the head
(risk of bumping).
