Manual COM Port selection
5.3.1.2
To select the COM Port number assigned by the operating system manually, click the [COM port]
button. The 'COM Port' window shown below will open. Deselect [Automatic search] and then se-
lect the COM Port number assigned to X-zone Com from the list by the operating system.

5.3.2 Change device designation/measuring site name

You can assign a name (e.g. a site where you take readings/measurements) to X-zone Com at
"Measuring Location" (the following characters are not allowed: §, °, German umlauts, and ß). All
transmitted readings will appear in the ORI Mcloud portal under this name. The device comes with a
name that is the same as the device ID of X-zone.
Fig. 5.6: Assigning a name to X-zone Com.
Clicking [Upload] assigns the name to X-zone Com. The maximum number of characters for the
name is 10. The system does not accept German umlauts (i.e. ä, ö, ü) and special characters. If no
name or an invalid name is assigned, the system will not transmit the settings X-zone Com and an er-
ror message will appear.
NOTE
Selecting the ComPort manually makes sense when you have
several X-zone Coms. If you don't perform this manually, the
system will connect to the first X-zone Com it finds.
NOTE
The assigned device name is required for the registration of X-
zone Com in Mcloud.
