4.2.2 Inserting the SIM card
To send e-mail and text messages with X-zone Com, the internal modem must have an SIM card.
To use the GSM modem, customer M2M SIM cards that are suitable for data and text (SMS) commu-
nication are necessary. Customers should obtain contracts with providers that provide the required
data volume and sufficient number of text messages. SIM cards that are also suitable for voice com-
munication (also applies to twin cards) or that are mainly intended for use with smartphones, tablets or
USB/GSM sticks, should first be activated and tested using an appropriate smartphone/tablet/USB
GSM stick. Services such as forwarding of voice services or similar should be disabled. The SIM card
can be used only in X-zone Com's GSM modem after the activation/setting is completed.
