Piston pin
1- Remove the internal snap ring, and push out the piston pin with
piston pin adaptor.
(When reassembling)
• When installing the piston pin, immerse the piston in 80°C
(176°F) oil for 10 to 15 minutes and insert the piston pin to
the piston, and connecting rod.
• Clean and apply engine oil to the piston pin, piston pin hole
and connecting rod small end bushing before installing.
Perno del Pistón
1- Sacar el aro de resorte interno, y retire el perno del pistón con
un adaptador de perno de pistón.
(Cuando se vuelva a armar)
• Cuando se instale el perno, s u m e rgir el pistón en aceite a 80˚C
(176˚F) por 10 o 15 minutos e instalar el perno al pistón y la biela.
• Limpie el perno y aplique aceite al mismo, en el orificio del
pistón y en el buje del final pequeño de la biela antes de
hacer la instalación.
Installing Piston with Connecting Rod
1- Coat a thin film of engine oil onto piston and cylinder liner.
• IMPORTANT
- Check that piston ring gaps do not overlap.
- Make sure that the arrow mark
faces upward (toward condensor) before installing it.
- Be sure not to damage crankshaft journal when pushing
piston into cylinder liner.
2- Insert the piston into the cylinder with piston ring guide 2. To
insert the piston, lightly push the piston with a hammer grip.
3- Apply clean engine oil to the crank pin bearing and connecting
rod screws.
• NOTE
- The connecting rod screws should be screwed into the
extreme end by hand. If they can not be screwed in smoothly,
clean their threads. If they are still hard to be screwed in,
replace them.
4- Align the marks (2) on the connecting rod cap and connecting
rod, and assemble them onto the crank pin.
5- Tighten the connecting rod screws to thee specified torque.
6- Rotate the crankshaft several revolutions to make sure there is
no binding or unusual resistance.
