6.5. Ultrasonic width sensor calibration
It is used to calibrate the ultrasonic sensor posi-
tioned on the wheel protection tube (width). It
must be executed when the machine requests
it by displaying the E4 message, or when you
notice a difference between the detected circle
width and the actual circle width.
-
select the icon
libration of the width within the configuration
programs;
-
Fix the calibration template in correspon-
dence of the threaded hole on the bell of the
oscillating unit using the screw M8 (A, Fig.24)
provided with the ultrasonic sensor;
-
use the sleeve with the wheel spacer to bring
the smoke contact with the bell of the oscillating
unit (fig.24);
-
press the LIVE button on the weighing cover
or the ENTER button to confirm the mounting
of the template;
-
slowly rotate the template towards the operator
until the parking brake is automatically enabled
(fig.25);

-
The machine automatically calibrates the front
laser.
-
when the front laser is resting, slowly rotate
the template in the opposite direction to the
operator until the parking brake is automatically
enabled (fig.26);
-
Slowly lower the wheel guard (fig. 27), the ma-
chine will automatically calibrate the sensor.
If the calibration is successful, a consensus
message is displayed.
The display of the A20 message indicates
instead that:
-
the position of the calibration template during
calibration is incorrect. Place the template in
a correct way, ie by checking that the hole on
the ultrasonic sensor holder is in line with the
calibration template (Fig. 27) and repeat the
procedure.
