5.5.4 Adjustment of needle stop motion

The device stops the machine, should a
needle butt break or should the knitted
fabric gather excessively owing to poor
suction.
Should the needle butt break, it is not
lowered when knitting the fabric and thus
it hits the tip of the STOP rod, which,
owing to the blow and by means of a
spring, springs outwards and closes a
contact which
immediately.
To adjust it proceed as follows:
1. Remove one needle and insert a
needle without butt; raise it manually to
the height height indicated in Fig.52.
Then adjust the depth of the rod using
the adjusting screw (A), so that the rod
tip passes the needle by at least 1 –
1.5mm.
Once the adjustment is completed,
replace the broken needle with a
normal one.
2. Adjust the height of the rod so that the
distance between the rod and the
sinker tip amounts to approximately
0.5mm. Use the screws (C) to carry
out this adjustment.
3. Hit the rod to verify whether the stop
device functions. Press the button
to reset.

El dispositivo para la máquina en el caso que
se produzca la rotura del talón de una aguja
o una acumulación de tejido debida a una
mala aspiración.
Si una aguja tiene un talón roto, no es bajada
para formar la malla y entonces va a golpear
la punta de la barra del STOP, que por efecto
del golpe y por medio de un resorte, salta
hacia el exterior cerrando un contacto que
detiene inmediatamente la máquina.
Para la regulación operar de la manera
siguiente:
1. Quitar una aguja e introducir una aguja
sin talón, levantarla manualmente hasta la
altura indicada en la Fig.52; entonces
regular la posición de trabajo de la barra
vigila aguja actuando sobre el tornillo de
regulación (A), de manera tal que la punta
de la barra misma sobrepase el vástago
de la aguja de 1 – 1,5mm.
Realizada la regulación reemplazar la
aguja rota con una normal.
2. Regular la posición en altura de la barra
vigila aguja de manera que la distancia
entre la barra misma y el pico de la platina
resulte de 0,5mm
Realizar esta regulación actuando sobre
los tornillos (C).
3. Golpear la
funcionamiento del stop. Para reponer,
pulsar el botón
