SHARPENING AND REGULATING THE BLADES
In order to provide a clean and efficient cut, the blades must be maintained
sharpened and regulated. It is advisable to verify them every 15,000 bales,
approximately. When required, execute the sharpening, as described on the
following page.
CARE
SHARPENING:
1- Remove the set screws and disassemble the blades A and B. Execute
the sharpening trying to maintain the original angle of inclination of the
blade. The illustrations below show the original dimensions of the blade
and counterblade.
2- Assemble the blades again.
IMPORTANT: Only sharpen the beveled side of the blade, as indicated
below.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE BLADES
IMPORTANT! Before adjusting the gap between the blades, the pressing piston
must be regulated.
In order to adjust the gap between the blades, proceed as follows:
- Loosen the 4 screws which fasten the blade A.
- Move the blade A until the gap between the blades is between 1 and 1.5 mm,
at most.
- Retighten the setscrews of the blade A.
The blades have a sharp edge, so handle them carefully in
order not to hurt yourself.
