Controlling the Oil Level of the Milling Machine Reducer

Changing the Oil

BE CAREFUL of the plate blades and the milling machine drum.
Proceed in the following manner to control the oil level of the milling machine reducer gearbox:
Place the milling machine arm about 1.5 meters from the ground ( the filling and control plug A fig.1),
wear appropriate safety gloves and clothing; turn the milling machine drum to coincide with the hole on
the side disc to the plug of the milling machine reducer gearbox level (A fig.1), remove the oil level plug
(C fig.1); it normally will start to drain. If not, fill the oil in the same hole (See the "Summarized
maintenance table" for the oil change periods.
Proceed in the following manner to change the milling machine reducer gearbox:
Lower the milling machine and place it about 2 cm from the ground, wear appropriate safety gloves and
clothing; turn the milling machine drum to coincide with the drain hole on the side disc to the plug of the
milling machine reducer gearbox level (B fig.2), remove the drain plug; also remove the level plug (C
fig.1) in order to make the oil drain faster (draining the old oil must be done as stated in the current
applicable local environmental regulations).
After draining the old oil, replace the plug (B fig.2).
Place the milling machine arm about 1.5 meters from the ground (exactly at the height of the filling and
control plug).
Turn the disc until the filling hole (A fig.1) and proceed with the filling; When the oil starts to drain from
the hole, the filling process is concluded. (see the "Summarized maintenance table" to see the oil
change periods).
