5.3 Prerequisites
5.3.1 Hardware
R
The workbench for the EPS 205 must have a load-
bearing capacity of >160 kg and a solid, torsion-
resistant, firm working surface. Use a spirit level to
make sure the working surface is horizontal.

To ensure adequate ventilation for the EPS 205, the
gap between the back of the unit and the wall must
be at least 30 centimeters. To prevent overheating,
it must be ensured that the vent grilles on the back
and underside of the EPS 205 are not closed off.
R
Never expose the EPS 205 to direct sunlight. There
should also not be any other sources of heat (for
example radiators) in the immediate vicinity of the
unit.

Compressed air connection with service unit for the
supply of dry, filtered, clean and oil-free compressed
air as per ISO 8573-1 with a pressure of between
0.5 MPa and 0.8 MPa.

The EPS 205 is only to be operated with test oil as
per ISO 4113.

Never fill the EPS 205 with diesel fuel.

The test oil in the tank must not drop below the oil
level indicator mark.

The EPS 205 must be placed in the oil collector pro-
vided. The oil collector should have a minimum size
of 30 x 570 x 720 mm (H x W x D). The maximum
height of the oil collector is 35 mm.

The EPS 205 is only to be connected to a grounded,
symmetrical three-phase AC network set to the local
voltage ±10% and with a frequency of 50/60 Hz. The
three-phase AC network must be protected by an
automatic circuit breaker.

We recommend using an external extractor with oil
mist separator for the spray pattern test.

Injectors with a coil resistance of up to 3 ohms can
be tested.

It is only permissible to connect printers approved
by Bosch.
5.3.2 Training
The EPS 205 is only to be operated by specialist per-
sonnel instructed and trained to perform diesel testing.
We recommend a user training course*
and repair of common rail injectors (CRI/CRIN) and
piezo common rail injectors (CRI Piezo).
