2.7 This operating manual must be readily available
to the operation, maintenance and service personnel
during the whole period the spreader beam is used.
(Duty to maintain record!). If the spreader beam chang-
es hands, the operating manual must be passed on to
the new owner.
2.8 Unauthorised modifications (grinding, welding,
attaching parts etc.) are prohibited. Modifications to the
Spreader Beam must be carried out only by Pfeifer Seil-
und Hebetechnik GmbH.
2.9 Use personal safety equipment in accordance with
the workplace hazard evaluation (also see DGUV Rule
100-500, Chapter 2.8: Load Suspension gear in Lifting
Equipment Operation)! We recommend a protective
helmet, safety shoes and, if necessary, gloves!

this operating manual.
3.2 It is therefore imperative that you carefully read and
understand the instructions in this operating manual
before the first use of the spreader beam. The specially
marked safety precautions must be strictly adhered to!
3.3 mportant instructions, especially technical safety

4. Authorised Intended Use
The Spreader Beam is a lifting device and is used
exclusively for lifting, transporting and setting-down of
inherently stable (resistand to bending) loads with
centric load centre of gravity. The Spreader Beam is
lifted by either one or two crane hooks (Two crane
operation). It can also be lifted by forklifters, if there are
forklifter pockets. The Spreader Beam is intended for
indoor and outdoor use. The user must be sure that the
load is in a proper condition. Only properly attached
loads may be lifted and transported.
The centre of gravity of the Spreader Beam lies centric
below the suspension. The type plate is on one side of
the main girder. Please note the capacity of the Spreader
Beam and attachment devices! Obligatory for the maxi-
mum load to be lifted is the capacity shown on the type
plate!
The Spreader Beam or the load can crash if the
Spreader Beam is not used proberly. This can cause
injuries to persons and damage to the Spreader Beam
or other objects. Only lift and transport loads as
mentioned above!
