o'clock exactly.
- Perform a second spin and wait for the message "CAL StP" to appear before braking the
wheel (on manual spin version of machine).
Important: spins may take longer in the calibration program than during normal
operation.
To avoid excessively long process times, with the manual spin version of the machine,
stop the spin cycle as soon as the acquisition speed is reached.
- Once the wheel is at standstill, remove the sample weight and rotate the wheel to the
point denoted by the position indicator and by the appearance of the value "300" (or
7") in the display.
- Attach the 700 g (or 7 oz) sample weight once to the OUTSIDE of the wheel rim, at 12
o'clock exactly.
- Perform a third spin. This final stage in the calibration procedure consists of three spins
carried out consecutively. The messages "CAL SP1" and "CAL SP2" are shown on the
display to prompt the operator to execute the fourth and fifth spins.
At the end of this spin (message "End CAL" appears on display) you will get a beep as a
calibration OK signal; otherwise one of the following error messages will be displayed:
E 2
Error condition during sensitivity calibration.
Repeat sensitivity calibration paying attention to the first spin, which must be
performed with the wheel as in the successive spins.
DO NOT knock the machine during calibration.
E 3 I/E 2/3 Error condition at the end of sensitivity calibration. Repeat the calibration; if
the message persists perform the following checks:
• Sensitivity calibration procedure carried out correctly;
• Calibration weight fixed and positioned correctly;
• Geometry of the wheel used.
The self-calibration program ends by displaying the unbalance value for the wheel (dis-
regarding the 300 g standard weight).
NOTES
- At the end of the calibration routine remove the reference weight from the wheel.
- Press
to stop the programme at any time.
- THE ABOVE CALIBRATION PROCEDURE IS VALID FOR ALL TYPES OF TRUCK WHEELS.
CALIBRATION PROGRAM FOR
This operation must be performed when you feel that the machine is out of tolerance or
when it calls for self-calibration by displaying the message E 1 C on the display when it
is set up for car wheels.
- Set the machine in car balancing mode (LED next to CAR is lit).
- Mount an average size and balanced car wheel (or one with fairly limited unbalance)
- Input all the wheel data accurately
