Heating
There are several available heating modes:
Electric heating: provided by shielded heating elements (variable number of elements
depending on the machine type) placed inside the cylinder.
Machine Type
Number of heating elements
Heating element power (KW)
TOTAL power (KW)
Gas heating: provided by a bar running along the entire interior length of the cylinder
to provide even heating from one end to the other.
The bar ignition is provided by an electronic igniter with 1 spark plug (atmospheric burner)
/ electrode (radiant burner) for ignition and flame control, thereby eliminating any manual
operations and providing complete safety. Safety is increased by a double safety solenoid
valve installed at the machine gas line inlet.
Two types of GAS burner are available depending on the model:
- Atmospheric burner (only available for PS-50 TP2): as standard on PS-50 TP2, the
machine is manufactured to be connected to a NATURAL GAS network. However, on
installation it is possible to convert the machine to connect it to a PROPANE GAS network. A
conversion kit is delivered with the machine.
- Radiant burner (standard on PS-65 TP2): more efficient and cost effective, optional
on the PS-50 TP2, the type of GAS (NATURAL OR PROPANE) must be indicated on the order
as conversion during the installation is not possible.
Steam heating: using a rotating steam box, steam is injected inside the cylinder and
the cylinder temperature depends on the steam pressure. As a result, for this heating
mode the temperature is not adjustable, the touch screen simply indicates the roller
temperature but does not control the heating.
The suggested steam pressure is 10 BAR, corresponding to a cylinder temperature of
approximately 170°C.
