1. The inflow tube can take irrigation fluid from two fluid bags (1). Close both
clamps (3) at the branches of the inflow tube.
2. Grasp the tap spike (2) at the provided handle when connecting or discon-
necting.
3. Comply with sterile precautions when inserting the spike into a bag (optional
safe lock connection) or changing fluid bags.
4. Open at least one clamp (3) at the irrigation tube.
5. When exchange of fluid bag is required, hang a new fluid bag at the respond-
ing holder.
Close the clamp at the branch of the inflow tube connected to the empty fluid
bag, grasp the tap spike at the provided handle and pull the tap spike careful-
ly out. Always comply with sterile precautions and do not touch the surface
which was inserted to the fluid bag before.
Insert the tap spike in to the new fluid bag and open the responsible clamp if
necessary.

Starting the Pump Function of the Device

To achieve optimum performance with selected Stryker equipment (endoscope
and cannula), the FloSteady Arthroscopy Pump is equipped with the SELECT
Mode functionality which allows you to either use the Auto calibration function-
ality or to select a predefined specific cannula and endoscope combination.
You can change the default combinations for the joints knee, shoulder or hip at
the user menu. For the current operation you can choose one cannula/scope
combination depending on the selected joint as listed at Chapter 7.1 "Instrument
Selection".
Switch device on as described in Chapter 5.3 "Switching On Device".
The device switches off automatically if the battery is used to operate the device
and a tubing is not inserted within 30 minutes.
If the tube cassette is not inserted, the touch screen depicts the message Insert
tube set.
Once the tubing has been inserted and the joint has been selected, the touch
screen switches to Start pump or to the Instrument selection screen.
