The Patient-Use Tubing has a connector (hygiene connector) on one side to con-
nect with the Day-Use Cassette Tubing. A Luer lock adapter to connect to an in-
strument such as a cannula is fitted to the other side. Connect the hygiene
connector of the Patient-Use Tubing with the matching piece on the Day-Use
Cassette Tubing.
To avoid a contamination of the Day-Use Cassette Tubing, the Patient-Use Tub-
ing includes a backflow valve (see Fig. 5-6 "Illustration of Patient-Use Tubing"

Inserting the Day Use Tubing

The device is designed for use with a sterile packaged Day-Use Cassette Tubing
and a sterile packaged Patient-Use Tubing.
In order to separate sterile from non-sterile areas, assign the following tasks to
the "non-sterile" or the "sterile" nurse or medical personnel.
