5.3.3
Switching on Device with Inserted Day Use Tubing
(See chapter 5.4 "Single Use Cassette Tubing and Day Use Tubing" for description
of the tubings).
WARNING!
It is recommended not to switch off the pump if the Day-Use Cassette Tubing is
to be used again.
If the device was switched off:
Non-sterile tasks
1. The display depicts Logo followed by Remove tube set if the device is
switched on again and the Day-Use Cassette Tubing is already inserted.
2. Remove Day-Use Cassette Tubing.
3. The device conducts a device check. The device display depicts Device check.
4. After the successful completion of the device check, Device OK is visible and
3 beeps are heard, followed by Insert tube set.
5. Insert the Day-Use Cassette Tubing.
6. Select joint type.
7. On the display are depicted Day-Use Cassette inserted -> Start pump and the
function fields to be configured.

Replacing Patient-Use Tubing after Surgery
WARNING!
The Day-Use Cassette Tubing remains connected to device after surgery.
• A new sterile protection cap (included in Patient-Use Tubing) must be must be
handed over from the sterile field (under comply with sterile precautions) and
screwed onto the hygiene connector at the Day-Use Cassette Tubing after sur-
gery. This sterile protector remains connected to the Day-Use Cassette Tubing
until the next surgery.
• Always comply with sterile precautions and do not touch the surface which
was covered by the protection cap before.
• Never disinfect the connection surfaces.
• Do not switch off the pump if the Day-Use Cassette Tubing is to be used again.
The Patient-Use Tubing must be disposed of immediately after surgery.
Non-sterile tasks
1. Open packaging of the Patient-Use Tubing. Have the sterile personnel re-
move the Patient-Use Tubing. Keep the supplied protection cap in the sterile
package until the end of the surgery.
Sterile tasks
2. Remove and dispose the protection cap (sterile protector). Give the hygiene
connector (male) of the Patient-Use Tubing to the non-sterile nurse or medi-
cal personnel.
Non-sterile tasks
3. Hold the hygiene connector from the Day-Use Cassette Tubing at the provid-
ed handle, unscrew and dispose the protection cap (sterile protector).
Grasp the sterile male hygiene connector from the Patient-Use Tubing hand-
ed over by the sterile nurse without touching her, and pull the connector
carefully towards the pump if necessary.
Always comply with sterile precautions and do not touch the surface which
was covered by the protection cap before.
Connect the male hygiene connector of the Patient-Use Tubing with the
matching piece on the Day-Use Cassette Tubing by attaching both and screw
the male Patient-Use connector clockwise until both are fitted tightly.
