CAUTION
Danger of subsequent incorrect measurements if the zero calibration is not performed correctly.
► Ensure that, during zero calibration, no measured gas is in the measuring path and that the lenses are clean.
8. Perform a zero calibration at the receiver:
®
a. On the HART
handheld terminal, select 5 / Maintenance in the main menu.
b. In the 5 / Maintenance menu, select 6 Zeroing.
The gas warning system performs the zero calibration for the 4 mA measured signal. The maintenance signal is issued
on the 4 to 20 mA interface. The yellow and green LEDs flash alternatively on the receiver.
When the zero calibration is complete, Zeroing status: Completed successfully is displayed. The gas warning system
changes to measuring mode.
9. Check function using test gas sheets:
®
a. On the HART
handheld terminal, select 5 / Maintenance in the main menu.
b. In the 5 / Maintenance menu, select 7 Test Span.
®
The HART
handheld terminal displays the gas measured value. The maintenance signal is transmitted on the
4 to 20 mA interface. The yellow and green LEDs flash alternately. No signal is transmitted to the control unit.
c. Select the appropriate test gas sheets. Hold the 5 test gas sheets in front of the receiver lens.
d. On the display of the HART
than 1 LEL-m.
e. If the measured value lies outside the measuring range, remove the gas test sheets one by one until the value is within
the measuring range.
f. Exit the Test Span mode
®
g. Exit the HART
application.
The function check is used to test if the gas warning system indicates a measured value when there is gas in the measuring
path.
The function can also be checked using a gas cell kit.
NOTICE
After commissioning, activate the alarm activation in the control unit if necessary.
4.2.7
Performing an application-specific configuration
The factory setting of the parameters is described in section 8.4 on page 29. The parameters can be changed if necessary.
®
Any HART
handheld terminal can be used with the Dräger Device Description (DD) or a computer with the Dräger PolySoft to
do this.
4.3
During operation
The status of the gas warning system is displayed with the status LEDs and transmitted to the control unit via the
4 to 20 mA interface.
1) The gas warning system exits Test span mode automatically after 1 hour and returns to measuring mode.
