General instructions
When choosing the installation location, observe the following points:
To avoid disruptive influences due to extraneous light, Dräger recommends using the protective cap included in delivery.
Radiant heat can lead to a temperature rise above the specified limit values. Dräger recommends using the supplied weather
protection or the supplied cover to prevent direct sunlight on the device.
Install the gas warning system so that it is accessible for required maintenance activities.
The measuring path between transmitter and receiver and the immediate environment must be kept clear of obstacles. Dräger
recommends a free measuring path of at least 25 cm in diameter.
To achieve fault-free measurement and as long as maintenance intervals as possible, both transmitter and receiver should
be installed on a stable, low-vibration structure. The structure should not be distorted or bent.
Devices or components for use in hazardous areas which have been tested and approved according to national or
international explosion protection regulations may only be used under the conditions specified in the approval and with
consideration of the relevant legal regulations.

On delivery, the layout is "transmitter viewing direction to the right, receiver viewing direction to the left". This layout can be
changed. To do this, both the ground connection and transmitter or receiver must be mounted onto the other side of the
mounting plate. In this case, make sure that the screws of the gimbal between mounting plate and receiver or between
mounting plate and transmitter are screwed in downwards from the top (torque: 3,68 ft lb. ±0.73 ft lb/5 Nm ±1 Nm). The
triangular markings on both mounting plate and gimbal must point to each other.
1. Mount the component to the wall using 4 suitable screws.
