5. Calculate the necessary cross-sections in accordance with the chosen cable lengths and the power intake of both transmitter
and receiver. An operating voltage of 18 V - 30 V must be present on the terminals of both transmitter and receiver.
When determining cable lengths and cable cross-sections, the power supply must at least amount to 18 V at the junction
box (Power (+) to Power (–)).
The impedance of the 4-20 mA signal loop must not exceed 500 Ω.
®
If HART
is being used, the 4-20 mA signal loop must not fall below an impedance of 230 Ω. Observe Safety Manual
9033709.
6. Wire both transmitter and receiver
The terminal configuration of cables A through G (see figures on page 14) is as follows:

7. Connect the field wiring to the control unit.
8. Ground the Power (–) connection in the control unit.

Installing signal attenuator plates
1. Select required signal attenuator plates.
For open path gas detectors, use the following signal attenuator plates:
Measuring path
15 ft. to 25 ft.
(4 m to 8 m)
25 ft. to 55 ft.
(8 m to 16 m)
55 ft. to 650 ft.
(16 m to 200 m)
For duct mount gas detectors, use the following signal attenuator plates:
Measuring path
3 ft. to 6 ft.
(1 m to 2 m)
6 ft. to 15 ft.
(2 m to 4 m)
15 ft. to 25 ft.
(4 m to 8 m)
2. Press the signal attenuator plates into the recesses in front of the lenses.
1) Cables that will be connected to the field wiring terminals must conform to the „NEC class 2" specifications, max. 140 °F (60 °C), 24 AWG to
2
14 AWG (0.2 mm
to 2.5 mm
