4.1 GENERAL CLEANING
Cleaning operations must be carried out periodically in order to
guarantee good machine performance.
To clean the equipment, proceed as follows:
- park the machine in a suitable place with the side frames open
and resting on the ground;
- detach it from the tractor;
- wash it with a water jet, wherever possible from the outside;
- remove any soil and plant residue using a broom or brush;
- dry the machinery.
ATTENTION
Do not climb up on the machinery or on the rollers to clean.
4.2 DISASSEMBLING FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIR
During disassembling and re-assembling of the various parts of
the equipment, ensure thet the said parts have been assembled
in the correst order (if necessary, mark the various parts during
disassembling).
Please refer to the drawings and photos shown in this manual.
Before disassembling the equipment, be sure to:
- park the machine in a place that is large enought to permit
obstruction-free disassembling with the side frames open and
resting on the ground;
- detach the equipment from the tractor;
- cordon off and suitably mark the operations area;
- carefully inspect the physical state of the disassembled parts and
replace them if damaged.
ATTENTION
Do not stand underneath suspended loads.
Access to the operations area is forbidden to non authorised
personnel.
Working overalls, safety footwear, gloves and glasses must
be worn.
It is the duty and responsibility of the operator to perform perio-
dical maintenance on the equipment. This particularly applies to
the parts which could endanger his own or other's safety if they
were to break.
ATTENTION
During equipment maintenance always keep a fi re extinguisher
close to hand, especially if welding operations are to be carried
out on the equipment.
4.3 RESIDUAL RISKS
ATTENTIONN
The risk caused by pressure oil.
Use the oil that the producer recommended and respect the
provisions existing in the safety chart of the product.
ATTENTION
Fire risk.
Do not smoke or use naked fl ames near the machine: this
could set off a fi re in the oil of the hydraulic circuit.
40
USE AND MAINTENANCE
Before making repairs on the machine using arc or fl ame
welding, ensure thet there are no oil leaks from the hydraulic
circuit.
Risk of pollution when draining of oil from the hydraulic
circuit.
Used oils must be discharged and disposed of according to
the legislation in force in the country in which the machine
is being used.
Risk of pressurised oil jets being ejected.
The operator must use safety glasses, working overalls, safety
gloves and footwear to ensure that any oil splashes do not
injure eyes, face or uncovered body parts.
Erroneous connection of the machine's hydraulic piping with
the tractor's hydraulic circuit could cause damage to the
machine and potential danger for the operator.
Risk of cutting and blows during cleaning, adjusting and
maintenance of the machine.
The moving parts (anchors, spiked rollers, soil-breaking
discs) represent a potential injury risk for the operator. Use
appropriate PPEs.
Risk when transporting the equipment by road.
The transporting of the equipment by road at night or in
conditions of poor visibility without the appropriate lighting
devices is strictly prohibited as it could lead to accidents.
The risk that lateral rollers may fall during the road transpor-
tation. If these rollers are not raised and fi xed, as indicated
in paragraph 3.5.6 of the manual, they may fall during road
transportation, causing a possible break of the equipment or
causing the injuring of a third-party person.
Risk of crushing the operator or third parties present in
the area around the equipment during transportation and
handling.
The operator must ensure that there are no third parties present
in the area around the equipment during these phases.
Loss of pressure in the hydraulic circuit during operation.
The operator must run the necessary checks and perform
