The LU1W controller allows both electronic fan speed modulation via 0-10V analogue output (AO1), as well as EBM
PAPST or ZIEHL ABEGG electronic fan management via the RS485 dedicated MODBUS serial line.
Standard configuration includes RS485 MODBUS control.
The parameter PF03, set at the factory, specifies the brand of the fans used.
The fans are factory-addressed, with addresses 11 = fan 1 to 32 = fan 22. The number and layout of the fans, according
to which the information screens of VENTILATION and the single fan are displayed, and according to which progressive
start-up and shutdown occur, are defined by the factory settings PF01 and PF02. Parameter PF03 refers to the brand
of the fans used and modifies the setting of the dedicated fan control MODBUS line.

Compared to analogue control, MODBUS management allows to make the best use of the fan's potential. Below are
some of the most significant features:
Setting and modifying the absolute maximum RPM of the fans by parameter PF04. The maximum setting
speed corresponds to the limit set by the manufacturer and depends on the fan model installed.
Despite the presence of this setting, it is preferable to opt for speed limitation by parameter PF20, which
limits the speed in normal operations to a maximum % of the absolute maximum in RPM.
Parameter PF04 is in fact a limit even for extraordinary or short-term operations, such as the over-speed
emergency function (see paragraph 4.3.1 Over-speed and cut-off), i.e. activities that require full exploitation
of fan capacity.
ATTENTION! When parameter PF04 is changed, the new value is written in the fan EEPROM. Given the
limited number of write/erase cycles of the fan EEPROM (100,000), you may need to be careful to set this value
via MODBUS; an entry at each cycle of the remote supervisor would lead to early deterioration of the fan
EEPROM.
