A 5.1 Description

The optical fibre tip # is rotatable and can
thus be adjusted to the respective tooth

position. The water supply is regulated by
the foot switch of the KEY LASER in
position 2. The air supply is shut off inside
the handpiece.
To ensure a very uniform exposure of the
tooth, the optical fibre tip has a rectangular
outlet surface.
A 5.2 Regulation of water flow rate
The water flow rate is regulated by means
of setscrew Ì on the laser tube. As long as
the optical fibre tip points downwards, the
water runs along the optical fibre tip to the
treatment point. If the optical fibre tip points
upwards, the water drips from the outlet
opening.
As in the case of the contra-angle laser
Ì
handpiece, the water flow influences the pulse
energy applied at the optical fibre tip. Water
flow and extraction should be tailored to the
laser parameters.
If the water flow is reduced, clean the
channels \ with a jet needle.
