PERATING INSTRUCTIONS
A 4.2 Changing the optical fibre plug
Grip the optical fibre plug in the region of
the ring code and remove it.
Do not pull the tube or the optical fibre.
• Ensure that the coupling-in surface is clean.
• Push in the new optical fibre plug as far
as it will go. A clearly audible click clearly
indicates the correct fit of the optical fibre
plug.
• Before using the optical fibre plug, check
the optical fibre for sufficient elasticity by
pulling, exerting axial pressure and
bending.
Avoid scoring the optical fibre with
sharp-edged objects such as scalpels,
probes, scalers, forceps, etc., since this may
cause the fibre to break.
A 4.3 Sterilization
To avoid caking of tissue residues, instrument
sleeve @ and optical fibre plug " should
be thoroughly cleaned before sterilization
and each time after use.
A pure cotton cloth soaked in propanol
should be used for cleaning, until dirt
residues are no longer visible. Any fluff
present can be removed by means of dry air
from the air blower of the treatment unit.
When cleaning the optical fibre plug, ensure
that the coupling-in surface of the fibre is
not wet.
The optical fibre plugs are not suitable
for cleaning in an ultrasonic bath since
this may cause the coupling-in surface to
fracture.
