PERATING INSTRUCTIONS
If the silicone sheath of the optical fibre
plug can no longer be cleaned, it should be
replaced by a new sheath, Order No.
0 0 . . 5 5 7 7 4 4 . . 2 2 1 1 4 4 2 2 .
The instrument sleeve @ and the optical
fibre plug " are suitable for steam
sterilization (up to 135°C, 2.1 bar, 10 min).
For sterilization, the optical fibre plug
should be placed in a bag and can be
sterilized 10 times.
Since the sterilization can cause isolated
defects due to embrittlement in the fibre
material, the optical fibre should be checked
for sufficient elasticity each time before use

by pulling, exerting axial pressure and
bending.
Owing to the coated lens, the inner
part # of the instrument cannot be
sterilized.
Dismantling handpiece E 2055:
• Pull off the handpiece from the tube
coupling (see A 2.2).
• Grip the optical fibre plug in the region of
the rings and pull it off.
• Hold the instrument at the rear end and
unscrew the instrument sleeve.
• Close the unsterilizable inner part # of
the instrument at the back and front with
stoppers.
• Autoclave the instrument sleeve.
• Seal the optical fibre plug in a bag and
autoclave it.
• Assemble in reverse order.
