Important information on using
• Cookware with plastic handles is generally unsuitable for use in the oven.
• Depending on the use to which your cookware is put, the handles may become hot. We recommend using a
potholder.
• The pot should never be heated on high, either empty or with fat, for more than 2 minutes. If it is overheated, the
base may turn a golden colour. However, this discoloration does not affect its functionality. Overheating may also
result if the liquid in the pot is allowed to evaporate completely. In the event of such overheating, never remove the
pot from the hob: otherwise, there is a risk of burns cases by hot aluminium spillage. Switch off the hob and allow
the pot to cool down. Ventilate the room.
• Induction hob: In order to avoid the cookware overheating as a result of the high performance offered by induction
hobs, please observe the operating instructions issued by the hob manufacturer. Never leave the room while your
pot is heating up. Never heat it up on the highest setting or while empty. Noises may occur under certain circum-
stances. These have a technical cause and do not indicate that either your hob or your cookware is defective. The
cookware must be centred on the burner. The size of the pot and that of the burner must correspond; otherwise
the cooking zone may not respond to the pot base. In certain extreme cases of overheating, the aluminium in the
base may melt and liquefy.
• Gas hob: INTENSA pot handles are equipped with a flame guard. However, for safety reasons you should always
use potholders in order to avoid burns when using your pot on a gas hob. "Always ensure that your cookware is
centred and the flame does not extend beyond the bottom of the pot"
• In order to avoid burns as a result of fat foaming over or splattering when deep-frying, always use a tall pot and
only fill it halfway with fat. Do not cover it and take care to avoid overheating (maximum fat temperature 200 °C).
You will know that the correct deep-frying temperature has been reached if you plunge a wooden spoon handle
into the fat and a circle of small bubbles forms on the handle.
• Never add salt to cold water. Always add it to boiling water and stir. Adding salt to cold water may result in an
extremely high salt concentration at the bottom of the pot, leading to corrosion spots on the pot base. While these
changes to the stainless steel do not affect your pot's functionality or cooking properties, they can be extremely
difficult or impossible to remove.
