1. Adjust mower to desired cutting height (See
"To adjust mower cutting height" in this
section of the manual).
2. With mower in proper cutting height,
assemble gauge wheels so that they are
slightly off the ground. Install one of the
wheels in the appropriate hole, and tighten
well.
3. Repeat the procedure for all the wheels,
installing them on the same adjusting hole.
To operate mower
Your tractor is equipped with an operator
presence sensing switch. Any attempt by the
operator to leave the seat with the engine running
and the attachment clutch engaged will shut off
the engine. You have to be seated in the center
of the seat to prevent the engine from shutting off
when the tractor is operated in slopes or uneven
terrain.
1. Select desired height of cut with attachment
lift control.
2. Start mower blades by engaging attachment
clutch control.
To stop mower blades
Disengage attachment clutch control.
Caution!
Do not operate the mower without either the
entire grass catcher, on mowers so equipped,
or the deflector shield (S) in place.

Reverse operation system (ROS)
Your tractor is equipped with the Reverse
Operation System (ROS). An attempt to reverse the
tractor with the attachment clutch engaged will
turn off the engine unless the ignition key is in the
ROS "On" position.
Warning!
It is not recommended to mow in reverse
gear with the attachment clutch engaged. The
actuation of the ROS system, which allows
reverse operation with clutch engaged, shall
be done only when necessary to reposition
the machine with the attachment coupled to
it. Avoid mowing in reverse unless absolutely
necessary.
To use the reverse operation system
Use this system only when absolutely sure
children and adults are not in the mowing area.
1. Move the motion control lever to neutral (N)
position.
2. With the engine running, turn ignition key
counterclockwise to the ROS "On" position.
3. Look down and behind before reversing.
4. Slowly move motion control lever to reverse
(R) position to start the movement.
5. When the ROS system is no longer necessary,
turn the ignition key to the engine "on"
position.
