Avoid starting, stopping or turning on a slope.
 
If tires lose traction, disengage the blades and
proceed slowly straight down the slope.
Keep all movement on the slopes slow and
 
gradual. Do not make sudden changes in
speed or direction. It may cause the machine
to tip over.
Use extra care with grass catchers or other
 
attachments. These can change the stability of
the machine. Do not use the grass catcher on
steep slopes.
Do not try to stabilize the machine by putting
 
your foot on the ground.
Do not mow near drop-offs, ditches, or
 
embankments. The mower could suddenly
turn over if a wheel is over the edge of a cliff
or ditch, or if an edge caves in.
Do not turn on slopes unless necessary. In that
 
case, turn slowly and gradually downhill, if
possible.

6. Towing

Tow only with machines provided with an
 
adequate towing coupler. Do not tow any
equipment that is not attached to the towing
coupler.
Follow manufacturer's recommendations
 
on towed equipment weight limits, and on
towing on slopes.
Never carry passengers on the equipment
 
being towed.
On slopes, the weight of the equipment being
 
towed can cause loss of traction/control.
Drive at low speed, and foresee a good
 
distance to stop.

Tow only the attachments that are
recommended by and comply with
specifications of the manufacturer of your
tractor. Use common sense when towing.

7. Handling fuel

To avoid personal and material damage, use
extra care in handling gasoline. It is extremely
flammable and vapors are explosive.
Put out cigarettes, cigars, pipes or any other
 
igniting source.
Use an approved container only.
 
Never remove gas cap or add fuel with the
 
engine running. Allow engine to cool down
before refueling.
Never refuel the machine indoors.
 
Never store the machine or fuel container
 
inside where there is an open flame, or sparks
(boilers and other devices).
Never fill a gasoline container inside a car,
 
truck or trailer with plastic lining. Always
place the container on the ground and away
from the vehicle before filling it up.
