How to use your tractor
To set parking brake
Your tractor is equipped with an operator
presence sensing switch. When engine is running,
any attempt by the operator to leave the seat
without first setting the parking brake will shut off
the engine.
1. Depress brake pedal fully "B" and hold.
2. Pull parking brake lever (C) upwards and hold
it while releasing pressure from brake pedal
(B). Then release the parking brake lever.
Pedal should remain in brake position. Make
sure parking brake will hold tractor secure.
To stop mower blades
To stop mower blades, move attachment
clutch switch to disengaged position (O).
(O) Disengaged position.
(I) Attachment clutch in engaged position.
To stop the tractor
Fully depress the clutch/brake pedal.
114
Place motion control (J) lever in neutral (N)
position.
To stop the engine
Place the throttle control (D) between medium
and fast speed positions.
Note:
Failure to move the throttle control between
medium and fast speed position before
stopping the engine, may cause engine to
"backfire".
Turn the ignition key (F) to "STOP" and
remove it. Always remove key when leaving
tractor to prevent unauthorized use.
Never use choke (N) to stop the engine.
Important:
Leaving the ignition key in any position other
than "STOP", will cause the battery to be
discharged.
Note:
Under certain conditions when tractor is
standing idle with the engine running, hot
engine exhaust gases may cause "browning" of
grass. To eliminate this possibility, always stop
engine when stopping tractor on grass areas.
Caution!
Always stop tractor completely as described
above, and set parking brake before leaving the
operator's position.
