5. Remove the rear axle nut (4).
6. Remove the rear axle (7), chain adjusters (8) and
spacer. Remove the drive chain (9) from the rear
sprocket by pushing the rear wheel forward.

Rear Wheel Installation
Follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
• Tighten the rear axle nut to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 93 N.m (9.3 kgf.m; 68 lbf.ft)
• Adjust the drive chain slack (page 51).
• Adjust the rear brake free play (page 19).
• Apply the brake several times and check for free
wheel rotation after the pedal is released. Recheck
the wheel if the brake drags or the wheel does not
rotate freely.
WARNING
If a torque wrench is not used for installation, see
your authorized Honda dealer as soon as possible to
check for proper assembly. Improper assembly may
lead to loss of braking effectiveness.
