Crankcase Breather

(Refer to "Maintenance Precautions" on page 42.)
1. Remove the crankcase breather tube plug (1) and
drain the deposits into a suitable container.
2. Reinstall the crankcase breather tube plug.
Service more frequently when riding in rain, at full
throttle, or if the deposit level can be seen in the
transparent section of the drain tube.

Air Cleaner

(Refer to "Maintenance Precautions" on page 42.)
The air cleaner should be serviced at the intervals
specified in the Maintenance Schedule (page 40). Service
more frequently when riding in unusually wet or dusty
areas.
1. Remove the seat (page 30).
2. Remove the air cleaner housing cover (1) by
removing the four A bolts (2).
3. Remove the air cleaner element housing (3)
by removing the four B bolts (4) and
four spacers/washers (5).
4. Remove the air cleaner element (6) and tap it lightly
against a hard surface to remove all dust. Blow
away the remaining dust by applying compressed
air from the inside of the air cleaner.
NOTE
Replace the air cleaner element if it is excessively
dirty, torn or damaged.
5. Install the air cleaner element.
6. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.
