2.1- Use of PPE
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is any device of individual use intended to protect
the health and physical integrity of the worker with the intention of also minimizing
the risks of the work environment and promoting health, well being and avoiding
accidents and occupational diseases , according to Regulation Standard nº 06 (NR-06)
of the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MLE).
According to the necessity of each activity, it is mandatory to use PPE during all stages
of machine operation.
TYPES OF PPE
Safety Goggles:
Eye protection against injury from
the impact of particles and intense
light radiations.
Hearing Protection:
Protection against harmful levels
of noise. Prolonged exposure
to noise can cause damage or
hearing loss.
Respirators:
Protection for activities with
chemical products, such as
fertilizers, uncomfortable dust,
etc.
Gloves:
Protection for the activities
of engaging or disengaging
equipment, as well as the handling
of abrasive, sharp or perforating
objects.
Safety Boots:
With reinforced toe cap for jobs
in which there is danger of falling
of materials and heavy objects.
