Measures against dust, falling water and water ingress
• Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
• If battery acid has gotten on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If acid gets in eyes, immediately flush
eye with cold running water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention immediately.
Measures against flammable substances
• NEVER smoke or allow open flame or sparks near the battery or engine.
• When charging, the battery can develop oxyhydrogen gases. It is therefore essential to ensure that no sparks can form in
the immediate vicinity.
• When connecting or disconnecting the battery cables, wear protective goggles and keep your face away from the contact
points!
• Take care when handling metal tools near the battery. There is a high risk of sparking or explosion by shorting the contacts.
• Use of accessories not recommended or sold by the charger manufacturer may result in a risk of fire, electric shock, or
personal injury.
• Make sure that the area around the battery is well ventilated while the battery is being charged.
• Never place the charger directly above the battery to be charged; gases from the battery would eat away at the charger and
damage it. Also, never place the battery on top of the charger.
Measures against heating up of the device
• Heating of the device up to 50°C during operation is normal and no cause for concern.
Attention hot surface: Do not touch during and after operation (risk of burns).
• The charger must not be covered. Ensure good ventilation when charging. Overheating caused by covering leads to
automatic reduction of the charging current or even to shutdown.
Measures for the preparation of the cargo
• This charger is intended for charging 12V lead-acid batteries and must not be used for any other purpose.
• A frozen battery must not be charged under any circumstances. Therefore, charging should always be avoided if the
ambient temperature is below 0°C. If it is suspected that a battery is too cold, it should be warmed up sufficiently long at
room temperature before charging.
• Do not charge a damaged battery.
• Non-rechargeable batteries must not be charged with this device.
• Do not place the charger on the battery when charging.
• Always check whether the charger has switched to trickle charge before leaving the charger switched on unattended for a
long time. If the charger has not switched to trickle charge after 12 hours, there is a fault. Then the charger must be switched
