6.2. Telephone intercom interface
R
The telephone intercom interface unit (43492) allows the user to make intercom calls from a new 100 Series system using a telephone
connected to a switchboard.
R
Simply connect the 43492 unit to an extension on the switchboard as shown in figure e2.8
7. The 400 Series
R
One-channel 400 Series systems are installed using central unit model 41491 (see diagram e3.1 and e3.4). The sound input via the
frontal jack is distributed as channel number 1via connecting terminal 10.
R
Two channel systems are installed using central unit model 41492 (see diagram e3.2 and e3.5). In this case the FM tuner on the central
unit is distributed as channel number 1 via connecting terminal 10 and the sound input via the frontal jack is distributed as channel number
2 via connecting terminal 20.
R
To complete the installation to a maximum of 6 music channels, additional 41591/92 sound input devices must be installed. The audio line
out (XO) of these devices connects to control unit terminals 30, 40, 50 and 60, becoming music channels 3, 4, 5, and 6, respectively (see
diagram e3.3 and e3.6)
R
To ensure the proper visual angle, control units with displays should be installed at a height of between 1.20 m and 1.55 m from the floor.
R
All Series 400 control units are stereo. To configure a control unit as mono, connect either loudspeaker (the left or the right) and set the
control unit to "MONO" in the Installation Menu.
R
Audio lines out on the control units are compatible with other options besides 16 ohm or 8 ohm loudspeakers, amplifiers or line amplifiers.
To adjust this setting, go to the Installation Menu.
R
All 400 Series modular and compact control units are equipped with transmission and reception of intercom calls by zones, groups and
general calls. Each control unit must have a different zone number for this feature.
R
This zone number should be configured when a control unit is connected for the first time, prior to initiating normal operation mode. The
number can be changed subsequently using the Installation Menu.
R
For complete and correct installation information for the 400 Series, see Installation, Configuration and Programming Menus in
The 400 Series User and Installation Manual (ENG)
R
If the size of the installation requires the use of several power supplies, the rooms should be distributed in terms of the power of each (see
diagram e4.4).
R
·In installations of over 600 meters and/or 60 control units specific recommendations should be followed when distributing the control units
and making the necessary shunts (consult EISSOUND Technical Assistance). Basically a bus-type primary line distribution is
recommended, keeping the length of the shunts to each control unit (stubs) to an absolute minimum (see figure).
R
It also may be necessary to use a line reinforcement (unit 43301). The location of this unit is very important: it should be installed in one
or both ends of the standard cable line (see figure). Note that in a bus-type of installation is it easy to identify the line ends while in other
types of installations it is not. In these cases identify the longest straight route between two points and install the line
reinforcement unit onto one or both of its ends (see diagram e3.10.)
