4.2 Setting up and connecting
Deploy the Cercon
dry and well-ventilated room (IP20).
The table on which the unit is
deployed must be capable of safely
sustaining the unit's weight of 75 kg.
The surface of the table as well as
the fl oor must be made of non-fl am-
mable materials.
Make sure to maintain a safety dis-
tance of 50 cm on all sides.
Before inserting the power cord,
make sure that the power switch is in
the OFF position.
Observe the Moving and unpacking
safety notes.
Use only the sintering trays approved
for use with Cercon

Place the device in a dry room on a sturdy, non-
fl ammable surface. The minimum distance from the
nearest wall or object is 50 cm/19.69 in (see also
Deployment and operation safety notes). If neighboring
materials are certifi ed as non-fl ammable, this distance
can be reduced to 20 cm/7.87 in.

Use the adjustable feet to ensure that the
Cercon
®
heat plus P8 is perfectly level.
3.
Connect the device end of the power cord to the unit.
Connect the wall plug of the power cord to a properly
installed and protected wall outlet socket (see Technical
specifi cations and operating environment). The Cercon
heat plus P8 must be the only device on its circuit.
4.
Fill the sintering trays with sintering balls.

Note: Before turning on the Cercon
fi rst time, leave the unit to rest at the intended place of
employment for at least 24 hours to allow any moisture to
evaporate from the electrical system.
In order to drive the insulating material and the sintering
trays, the Cercon
®
heat plus P8 should fi rst run program
P2 with sintering trays in place, but without sintering
objects. During heating it can come to a smelling
disturbance - this agitates from the binder discharge of
the insulating material. The use of sintering trays other
than those approved for use with Cercon
permitted.
We recommend to ventilate the location of the furnace
during the fi rst heating phase well.
