Operation
Ampere meter (6):
Indicates the charging current of the alternator to the
battery.
Slow engine speed = indicator in the centre
Fast engine speed = indicator to the right (+)
Optional functions:
- When the ignition is switched on, the battery
voltage indicator is displayed for a short period,
which then changes to the operating hours indi-
cator. The operating hours are always counted
except for when the ignition key is in the "Stop"
position or when it is removed.
- Each time 50 operating hours have elapsed
(according to the model), the oil change indi-
cator 'CHG/OIL' appears in the display for five
minutes. This message appears after the next
two hours of operation. See the engine manual
for oil change intervals.
Seat with adjusting lever (depending on
model)
Fig. 20
Pull the lever and adjust the seat.
Light (depending on model)
Fig. 22
Switch on the headlights = switch to 'ON'.
The light switch has been omitted on some models.
The headlights are switched on while the engine is
running or the ignition key is at position
ing on model) or outside the STOP position/
Note
When the tractor is switched off, the head-
lights may flicker briefly.
Operation
Also follow the instructions in the engine manual!
Danger
Risk of injury
No person, especially children, and/or animals
should be allowed to stand close to the device when
mowing.
There is a risk of injury from stones and other
objects being thrown out by the device. Children
must never operate the device.
Be particularly careful when mowing in reverse
(devices with OCR switch).
People are not permitted in the work area of the
device.
Never empty the grass catcher while the cutter deck
is running. While emptying the grass catcher, you or
others may be injured by cut grass being flung out.
Take extra care when opening and closing the grass
catcher; there is a risk of crushing.
The device may tip when mowing on steep slopes
and cause injury.
Do not drive across the face of a slope, but only
straight up and down. The device should not be
driven on slopes with a maximum incline greater
than 20%. Do not turn on slopes.
If mowing on wet grass, the device may slip because
of reduced adhesion, in which case there is a risk of
falling. Only mow if the grass is dry.
Excess speed can elevate the risk of injury.
When mowing close to lawn edges (e.g. close to
particularly steep slopes, under trees and by bushes
and hedges), maintain a safe distance at all times.
Take extra care when reversing.
Check the area in which the device is used and
remove all objects that could be caught or thrown
out by the device.
If a foreign object (like a stone) comes into contact
with the cutting tool or if the device starts to vibrate
unusually: Switch the engine off. Before continuing
to use the device, have it checked for damage by a
specialist workshop
When rotary mowing, never stand in front of the
grass discharge openings. Never move your hands
or feet towards or under rotating parts.
Switch the engine off and remove the ignition key
and spark plug connectors before you clear the
discharge duct of blockages or other hindrances. Do
not use the device in adverse weather conditions,
e.g. if there is a risk of rain or a storm.
Risk of suffocation from carbon monoxide
Only operate the combustion engine outdoors.
Risk of explosion and fire
(depend-
.
Petrol vapour is explosive and petrol itself is
extremely flammable.
Fill up will petrol before you start the engine.
Do not remove the fuel cap while the engine is run-
ning or if it is still hot.
Fill the fuel tank only after the engine has been
switched off and allowed to cool down. Prevent
naked flames, formation of sparks, and do not
smoke. Only refuel the device outside.
Do not start the engine if any petrol has been spilt.
Push the device away from the area where the
petrol was spilt and wait until the petrol fumes have
evaporated.
To prevent a fire hazard, keep the following parts
free from grass and leaking oil: Engine, exhaust,
battery, fuel tank.
Danger
Risk of injury due to defective device
Only operate the device in a faultless state.
Perform a visual inspection before operating the
device. Check the safety equipment, cutting tools
with mounting, operating elements and screw con-
nections in particular for damage and firm seating.
Replace damaged parts before operating.
