Belgium, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Spain,
Italy, Croatia, Greece, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Slovakia,
Hungary, Slovenia, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Bulgaria,
Turkey, Romania, Poland, Cyprus, Malta, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia,
Iceland:
The barbecue is equipped with a circular connector. It should be used with
flexible hose that is suitable for use with butane and propane gas. Hose
length should not exceed 1.20m.
3.3 Checking for gas leaks
Important: never use a naked flame to check for gas leaks.
1. Work outside, away from all sources of ignition. Do not smoke.
2. Make sure the control knobs are in the "OFF" position (O) .
3. Fit the regulator onto the gas bottle in accordance with its instructions.
4. Connect the hose to the regulator and grill as described in section 3.2.
5. Use a gas leak solution to test for leaks. Alternatively, you can mix your
own gas leak solution by combining 1 cup of water with 1 cup of liquid
dish soap in a spray bottle and swirling gently to mix.
6. (Fig. 03) Apply or spray the solution to the connections between bottle/
regulator/hose/grill.
7. Open the gas bottle valve (the control knobs should remain closed:
"OFF" position (O) ). Bubbles in the gas leak solution indicate that there
is a gas leak.
8. The leak can be stopped by tightening any hose connection or replacing
any faulty component. The grill must not be used until the leak is
stopped.
9. Close the valve on the gas bottle.
Important: Check for leaks at least once per year and each time the gas
bottle is replaced.
3.4 Replacing the gas bottle
1. Always work in a well-ventilated area and never in the presence of a
flame, spark or heat source.
2. (Fig. 04) Return the control knobs to the "OFF" position (O) , then close
the valve of the gas bottle by turning the handwheel.
3. Remove the regulator and check that the sealing joint is in good
condition.
4. Replace the empty gas bottle with a full one and put it in place. Refit the
regulator, taking care not to apply stress to the hose.
5. Check for gas leaks.
4 - BATTERIES FOR ELECTRONIC IGNITION
AND/OR LIGHTING (depending on model)
4.1 Battery requirement
If your grill is equipped with an electronic ignition, it will require 1xAA
alkaline battery.
If your grill is equipped with an electronic ignition and backlit control knobs,
it will require 4xAA alkaline batteries.
For your convenience the applicable batteries have been included in the
package.
If the grill is not used over an extended period of time, it is highly
recommended to remove the battery compartment from the grill and store
it separately in a dry and cool place.
4.2 Exchanging the battery
The battery compartment is underneath the control panel. In order to
access it:
1. Remove the water drawers (Fig. 05).
2. Press the 2 release tabs of the battery compartment under the control
panel (Fig. 06).
3. Insert the batteries into the compartment, respecting the polarities as
indicated inside the compartment.
4. Slide the compartment back into place under the control panel. The side
of the compartment where the batteries are visible should be facing
toward you as you insert. (Fig. 07).
5. Check if it works! Push the ignition button, or if there is none, turn one of
the control dials. You should hear the ignition system sparking.
Caution:
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline,
standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries. Non-rechargeable
batteries are not to be recharged.
4.3 Battery disposal
This symbol found on the batteries means that at the end of their
lives, the batteries must be removed from the unit, and then
recycled or properly disposed of.
The batteries should not be thrown into the trash but should be
brought to a collection point (recycling centre etc.). Check with your local
council. Never dispose of batteries in nature. Do not try to incinerate: the
presence of certain substances (Hg, Pb, Cd, Zn, Ni) in used batteries may
be hazardous to the environment and human health.
5 - INSTACLEAN
®
It is recommended that water drawers below the control panel are filled
with water. This is optional and it is not required for your grill to function
correctly. However, Campingaz
water as it offers many benefits. The addition of water prevents residual
grease and food waste from baking into the material, thereby significantly
reducing the risk of flare ups. The small amount of resulting evaporation
during your grilling session, also works as a grease repellent. When it's
time to clean, thanks to this clever system, you can remove the greasy grill
parts and simply wash them off with soapy water. No scrubbing required!
5.1 Preparation before cooking
1. Ensure again that your grill is positioned on a flat and horizontal surface.
2. Open the water drawer until you reach the intermediate lock position
(Fig. 08).
3. Ensure the drain plug is properly tightened to avoid any water leakage.
4. Fill conventional tap water into the water drawer by either using the
provided container (depending on the model) or any other beaker.
Please respect the recommended filling volume of the corresponding
water drawer:
- If your barbecue has 3 main burners, fill the large water drawer with
1.5L of water.
- If your barbecue has 4 main burners, fill each of the two water drawers
with 0.75L of water.
Note: For your convenience you can use the provided grease evacuation
container as a measuring cup which has the respective filling volume
notches already applied. Alternatively, you can also use the MAX level
indicated in each water drawer to ensure you have the right fill amount.
5. Close the water drawers.
5.2 Evacuation of the water drawers after cooking
1. Open the water drawer until you reach the intermediate lock position
(Fig. 08).
2. For barbecue models with a front panel with integrated shelf, hold a
spare container under the drain plug before unscrewing it. For all other
models with doors, open the door below to reveal the grease evacuation
container with included filter, positioned within a cradle attached to
the door. If this is missing, ensure you place the grease evacuation
container and its cradle underneath the drawer you intend to evacuate.
(Fig 09.)
3. Ensure you have placed the filter in the container with the finger hole
toward the front.
4. Remove the drain plug by unscrewing it anti-clockwise (Fig. 10) and
allow the waste water to funnel through the evacuation hole until it is
completely empty.
5. Repeat steps 1-4 to evacuate the second water drawer if applicable.
6. Water drawers can be completely removed for cleaning. In order to
totally remove the trays, apply a slight upward movement to escape the
locking points at the intermediate and opened position.
7. Use the filter to collect and wipe off food waste and dense grease,
before disposing of the waste water from the container. Recycle food
waste and waste water as per your local laws.
Note: It is also possible to fill the water drawers with sand instead
of water.
6 - USE OF THE GRILL
6.1 Prior to use
Reminder: Never use the grill until the instructions have been read
carefully and understood. Additionally, ensure that:
• There are no gas leaks.
•
(Fig. 11) The hose does not touch any components which may get hot.
• Ventilation openings within the trolley are not obstructed, especially
in grill chassis in which the gas bottle is stored and are fully or partly
enclosed.
• The water drawers have been correctly inserted into their compartment
and that they are correctly positioned and pushed as far in as they will
go.
• The removable InstaClean
assembled correctly (see section 8 - Cleaning and maintenance).
• (Fig. 12) The burner are not blocked or obstructed (e.g. by spider webs).
6.2 Using the grill for the first time
When used for the first time, heat up the barbecue with all its burners
on FULL FLOW position (
30 minutes in order to eliminate any odours resulting from any residual
coatings on the new parts.
