Energy-saving tips
• Take advantage of the heat stored in the base, by turning down the heat and turning off the heat source even
before the food is completely finished.
• Cover the pot whenever possible.
• Choose a pot that is the right size for the amount of food you are cooking.
• The burner should be the same size as the bottom of the pot or smaller than it. Always place the pot in the
middle of the burner. On a gas stove, make sure that the flame does not extend beyond the bottom of the pot.
Recommended heat settings
Starting to cook
Browning, heating up
Main cooking phase, steaming, braising
The setting ranges specified are average values. When cooking delicate foods or small quantities, select a lower
setting. Use a higher setting when cooking large quantities. Please also follow the instructions for your stove.
It takes a little practice to select the perfect cooking setting for energy-saving cooking. The food should simmer
gently as it continues to cook, without boiling. No steam should escape from the lid. If a smaller or a greater
amount of steam is escaping, further reduce the heat.
