The elastomer with which the wafer check valve at pump inlet is manufactured is the same used in the mechanical seal.
The flat gaskets between pump body and motor carrier are made of:
- Centellen WS3820® if the seal elastomers are in TEFLON®;
- Guamotor 33 G® in all other cases.
11. BEARINGS LUBRICATION
The pumps can be manufactured with two types of bearings:
1. tin or screened bearings (of 2RS or ZZ type) that do not require greasing. Therefore, if used correctly, they do not require
maintenance interventions during the life period envisioned for the bearing. For the JP range pumps, using this type of
bearings, replacement is necessary about every 1500 hours of work;
2. bearings that must be lubricated every 500 hours of work using mineral oil based lithium grease (HTF 5613 DEGREE 3).
ATTENTION A scarce or incorrect lubrication of the bearings voids the safety and protection requisites against
explosion of the pump. The bearings must be replaced exclusively by Varisco S.p.A. or by competent technical
personnel (for maintenance and replacement of the bearings also refer to the "Use and maintenance
instructions" manual of the pump).
12. FIXING OF COMPONENTS TO BASE
The pumps supplied already assembled to an electric motor by means of joints and eventual mechanical reducers, have already
been submitted to optimal alignment, during in-house assembly, between the various transmission shafts.
However, it is necessary to check alignment again during installation in the work place of the machine as follows:
- arrange the base on the floor level introducing the bolts in the base holes without fastening them;
- remove the coupling covers;
- fasten the bolts and check axial, radial and parallel alignment again as indicated in the manuals of the individual joints. In case
of misalignments, bring them back within the admitted values, by following the assembly instructions of the joints;
- reposition the coupling covers before start-up.
It is also essential to periodically check the fastening torque of the bolts fixing the individual components to the base (including
the screws blocking the coupling cover).
13. CAVITATION
The cavitation, as well as being damaging for the pump, is a dangerous phenomenon in potentially explosive atmosphere: check
the right pump has been chosen by referring to the NPSH curves requested by the pump. The installer must calculate the NPSH
available in the plant (therefore, also considering the filters, the valves and all inlet fluid dynamic leaks).
ATTENTION Varisco S.p.A. declines every responsibility for malfunctionings caused by inadequate available
NPSH, but will only supply the NPSH value requested by the pump.
