Before starting the pump, we recommend following the general precautions below:
- check for the presence of lubricant inside the bowl of the mechanical seal;
- check that the pump body is full of liquid;
- check that the treated fluid does not contain large solid parts or such to cause damages. Check there are no oxidised steel and
ferromagnetic parts, even small;
- check there are no restrictions at pump input and/or output to avoid phenomenon of, respectively, cavitation and overload of
the motor;
- check that the connection piping is sufficiently resistant and that it cannot be deformed when connected to the pump;
- if the pump has remained inactive for long periods, we recommend circulating clean water inside for a few minutes to avoid the
risk of scaling;
- check the rotary direction is correct;
- check ground connection and verify there is electric continuity with ground connection between the individual components.

5. CLEANING THE PUMP

ATTENTION Clean the pump only with a damp cloth to avoid storages of electrostatic charges and dust.
Periodically check there are no deposits of any kind inside the pump and, in particular, in the area of the stator
parts.

6. CLASS OF TEMPERATURE AND TEMPERATURE LIMITING DEVICE

With the exception of the pumps supplied with temperature limiting device, the class of temperature varies depending on the
temperature of the pumped fluid; indicated below are the operational conditions.
Admitted variation of the ambient temperature:
−20 °C < T amb < 60 °C for the pumps/electric pumps supplied with temperature limiting device
−20 °C < T amb < 40 °C for the pumps/electric pumps supplied without temperature limiting device
For the pumps/electric pumps without temperature limiting device the maximum admitted value for the temperature of the
pumped fluid is reported in Table 2.
ATTENTION Check the thermal compatibility between pumped fluid and pump materials: in particular, for the
pumps that use parts in NBR, the temperature of the pumped liquid must not exceed 90°C.
ATTENTION In consideration of the admitted variation field of the ambient temperature, different temperatures
of the fluid from those reported in Table 2 do not allow the compliance of the temperature class of reference as
well as cause damages to the pump.
ATTENTION With the exception of the JP range of pumps that are already supplied with temperature limiting
device, where the user envisions the risk of exceeding the temperature limits envisioned in Table 2, it is necessary
to install a certified protection device in the plant (see Fig. 1), in compliance with Directive 94/9/EC. In all cases,
the protection device must prevent reaching the following temperatures:
T = 190 °C for the class of temperature T3;
T = 125 °C for the class of temperature T4;
T = 90 °C for the class of temperature T5.
In case of installation of the safety device, such indications on the class of temperature replace the values
indicated in Table 2.
