Possible cause
The torch is clogged by dirt in the coolant
system
Contact tip not tightened properly
socket is not correctly tightened
Open circuit in the torch hose package con-
trol cable
Thermal protection has triggered
Wire electrode jammed on the reel
Burr at start of wire
Incorrect contact pressure on wire feed unit
Torch faulty
Guide tube in the central socket is missing
or dirty
Welding wire coil badly wound
Surface rust on wire electrode
Torch internal coil clogged with wire abra-
sion dust
Torch internal coil kinked
Wire brake setting too hard
Duty cycle exceeded
Insufficient cooling of components
Coolant system has frozen up due to lack of
antifreeze
A spatter bridge has formed between the
contact tip and the gas nozzle
Contact tip does not match the wire diam-
eter or contact tip is worn
Phase missing
Gas cylinder empty
Torch faulty
Pressure reducer dirty or faulty
Gas cylinder valve faulty
Gas valve dirty or sticking
Inert gas quantity set incorrectly at the pres-
sure reducer
Pressure reducer dirty
Torch or gas hose blocked or leaking
Inert gas blown away by draughts
