All main and secondary parameters are reset to
their factory setting.

Welding circuit resistance measurement
Use the welding circuit resistance measurement function to
compensate for the voltage drop e.g. with long hose packs.
If you are working to the welding instruc-

tions in our EN1090 WPS Booklet you will
not be able to use this function. The voltage
values displayed do not apply in this case.
14.1

Activating welding circuit measurement

 Press the buttons "Down" S12 and "Up" S13 simultaneously.
‰ The "Options" menu appears on the "Multifunction dis-
play" S2.
 Press the button "Gas type" S9 until menu 10 "Compensa-
tion" is displayed.
 Press the buttons "Down" S12 and "Up" S13 simultaneously.
9 You are now in menu 10 "Compensation".
 Select the compensation type "Resistance" using the "Up"
button S13.
‰ The

The flashing indicates that calibration mode is active.
‰ When a Powermaster torch is connected, the display
shows the last saved welding circuit resistance value. The
right decimal point also flashes in this case.
The machine then waits for a measurement:
 Remove the gas nozzle from the torch.
 Cut the welding wire flush and retract approx. 5 mm.
 Place the current contact pipe in a clean spot in the seam
area, applying gentle pressure. Press the torch button for
2 seconds to start measurement.
9 If the measurement is correct, the measured value appears
in the "Multifunction display" S2.
 End the measurement by pressing the "End" button S6.
9 The decimal point then stops flashing.
‰ If an error occurs, "Error" appears in the "Multifunction dis-
play" S2.
 Take the measurement again.

Welding circuit resistance measurement
 Press the button "up" (S13) and the button "Mode" (S1) at
the same time and keep the buttons pressed for at least
5 seconds.
9 The text "--- Master Reset ---" appears in the multifunction
display as confirmation.

Deactivating welding circuit

 Press the buttons "Down" S12 and "Up" S13 simultaneously.
‰ The "Options" menu appears on the "Multifunction dis-
play" S2.
 Press the button "Gas type" S9 until menu 10 "Compensa-
tion" is displayed.
 Press the buttons "Down" S12 and "Up" S13 simultaneously.
9 You are now in menu 10 "Compensation".
 Select the compensation type "Length" using the "Up" but-
ton S12.
‰ The decimal point disappears.
 If necessary, change the length values using the buttons
"Material" S3 or "Gas type" S9.
 Leave the spot by pressing the "END" button S6 twice.
We recommend that you take measurements

at various points in the seam area in order to

any time by pressing the End button S6.
Welding is disabled when Measurement Mode
is running (decimal point flashes).
