Commissioning
Manual MIGMAG Mode
 Press button "Mode" S1 until the mode "Man. MIGMAG" ap-
pears in multifunction display S2.
 Select the secondary parameter "Inductor effect Man. "
with the button "Down" S12 or "Up" S13.
 Set the desired inductor effect with the buttons S3 (-) and
S9 (+).
The best results can be achieved with an induc-

tor effect of 80 to 100%!

Quatromatic

In Quatromatic mode, three welding programmes (P1...P3)
can be called up via the torch button in 4-stroke mode.
The programmes (P1...P3) are assigned the first 3 strokes of the
4-stroke mode.
Program1 (P1) --> 1. Stroke (torch button pressed)(e.g. start
current)
Program2 (P2) --> 2. Stroke (torch button released)(e.g. main cur-
rent)
Program3 (P3) --> 3. Stroke (torch button pressed)(e.g.
downslope)
Off
--> 4. Stroke (torch button released)
Quatromatic is only in the 4-stroke mode and

available with Tiptronic switched off.
Quatromatic settings cannot be saved as a Tip-
tronic job.
Quatromatic welding mode
 Select 4-stroke mode with the button "2-stroke/4-stroke/
spots/Quatro. "
 Press the button S24 again for 2 sec.
9 The signal lamp "4-stroke" S22 and a signal lamp "P1" S5,
"P2" S8 or "P3" S11 blinks.
 Select the desired program P1...P3 to be set. Press button
"P1" S4, "P2" S7 or "P3" S10 for this.
9 The respective signal lamp "P1" S5, "P2" S8 or "P3" S11
blinks.
 Now, set the desired welding parameters. These are in
– mode Man. MIGMAG:
welding voltage and wire feed speed
– Synergic mode....:
Welding current and wire/arc length correction
 As described above, select the two remaining programmes
(P1...P3) and set the desired welding parameters.
 End welding mode by pressing the "2-stroke/4-stroke/
spots/Quatro" S24 button.
Quatromatic mode
 Select 4-stroke mode with the button "2-stroke/4-stroke/
spots/Quatro. "
 Press the button S24 again for 2 sec.
9 You are now in Quatromatic welding mode. The signal
lamp "4-stroke" S22 and a signal lamp "P1" S5, "P2" S8 or
"P3" S11 blinks.

 Press the button S24 again for 2 sec.
9 You are now in Quatromatic mode. The signal lamp
"4-stroke" S22 and a signal lamp "P2" S8 blinks.
 Start the welding process by pressing and holding the
torch button.
9 The machine welds with program P1.
 Release the torch button.
9 The machine welds with program P2.
 Press the torch button again.
9 The machine welds with program P3.
 Release the torch button again.
9 The welding process stops.
 Exit Quatromatic mode by briefly pressing button S24.

Torch pot (optional)

 Connect the torch pot 77. (see „12.2 Connecting the torch"
on Page 43)
 Connect the control plug for the torch pot 77 to the digital
push pull socket 9 for remote control socket 5.

 Press the "Up" S13 and "Wire diameter" S6 buttons simulta-
neously for 5 seconds until the multifunction display "Cus-
tomize settings" appears.
Function Torch Pot Power
 Turn the "TorchPotPow" to On.
 Set potentiometer 75 to maximum and set the maximum
desired welding current on the equipment.
‰ Potentiometer 75 on the torch pot 77 is limited by the weld-
ing current set on the equipment.
Function Torch Pot Arc
 Turn the "TorchPotArc" to On.
 Set the correction of the arc length/wire speed or wire
speed (depending on the welding modes) with potenti-
ometer 75.
‰ Potentiometer 75 takes on the function of the "arc length/
wire feed speed correction" rotary pulse encoder S16. The
rotary pulse encoder S16 is inactive.
