Commissioning
Assign job texts
A descriptive text string can be assigned to each job, to give it
a special label or make it more uniquely identifiable.
 Switch on the Tiptronic function with the "Tiptronic" S10
button
 Select the job number using buttons S3 (-) and S9 (+)
 Press buttons "Up" S12 and "Down" S13 simultaneously in
order to access Edit mode.
9 A blinking cursor appears in the multifunction display S2.
 Buttons "Down" S12 and "Up" S13 are used to move the cur-
sor. When the cursor reaches the end of the line, it jumps
to the next one.
 Select a character (number, letter or special character)
with the buttons S3 (-) and S9 (+).
The editing mode is ended by pushing the button 48 (END)
or by simultaneously pushing "Down" S12 and "Up" S13.
If you press the "Tiptronic" S10 button whilst in Edit mode
(Tiptronic will be deactivated), your text entries will not be
saved.
Text strings can be programmed for both the job set (top
line of display S2) and for the individual job (bottom line
of display S2).
Please note that only the job number, not the

set name, will be copied
Job Switch
 Press the "Tiptronic" S10 button to switch on the Tiptronic
function (signal lamp S11 is lit).
 In Customize settings, switch the "Job Switch" function to
On.
In Standby mode, you can move forward to the next active
job in the job set by briefly pressing the torch switch but-
ton (not in spot mode).

Code Key Function
The lock function in the Extras menu is protected by a code
key function. A three digit numerical code must be entered
before the lock function can be changed. Only then is it pos-
sible to change the lock function. When leaving the menu you
can enter a new code number or you can confirm the old code
number. The factory code setting is "000. "
Method:
 Call up the menu Extras, lock function.
When the buttons S3 (-) or S9 (+) are pushed, then ques-
tion comes up "Change parameter?"
 Confirm the question with the button "Up" S13.
 Enter the three digit numerical code using the buttons S3
(-), S9 (+) or the rotary pulse encoder S23.
 Confirm the code with the button "Up" S13.
 Select the desired lock function using the buttons S3 (-)
or S9 (+).
 Exit the menu using the button S6 (END).

 If required, enter a new numerical code using the buttons
S3 (-), S9 (+) or rotary pulse encoder S23.
 Confirm the code with the button "Up" S13.

Special functions
Gas test
 Press and hold mode button Up S13.
 Press the gas button S9 briefly as well.
9 The solenoid of the equipment is switched on and the gas
supply can be checked/adjusted. The function remains ac-
tive for 30 seconds and is then ended automatically.
The gas test can be stopped prematurely by pushing the
gas type button S9 again.
Gas flow monitoring (optional)
This function is used to monitor the gas flow. The mini-
mum gas flow rate can be adjusted. If the gas flow rate falls
below this minimum value, the welding machine goes into
fault and displays the corresponding error message.
 Press the "Up" S13 and "Wire diameter" S6 buttons simulta-
neously for 5 seconds until the multifunction display "Cus-
tomize settings" appears.
 Select the parameter "Min Gas. " with the button "Down"
S12 or "Up" S13.
 Set the desired minimum gas flow rate with the buttons
S3 (-) and S9 (+).
When carrying out the gas test, the gas flow rate is dis-
played on the multifunction display.
The gas flow rate is displayed continuously along with the
coolant flow rate in the "Diagnosis/Cooling system low
rate" menu .
The gas flow monitor has been deactivated when the set
gas flow volume is 0.0 l/min.
Pump test
 Press and hold mode button Up S13.
 Press the material S3 button briefly as well.
9 The pump is switched on and runs for approx. one minute.
The pump test can be stopped prematurely by pushing
the material S3 button again.

Reset settings
Soft reset
All main and secondary parameters are reset to

their factory setting.
If the Tiptronic mode is active, the settings of
the current job are reset.
All the settings in the Extras menu (language,
display contrast etc.) remain unchanged.
 Press and hold mode button Up S13.
 Press the Taste TT Enter/P2 S7 button briefly as well.
9 The text "Reset settings" appears in the multifunction dis-
play as confirmation.
