Connecting the batteries (ONLITE central eBox MS1700)

A set of batteries for an ONLITE central eBox MS1700 main distribution unit consists of 18 series-connected
batteries. Batteries with a capacity of 12 Ah or 24 Ah can be used. The nominal voltage of the set of batteries is
216 V DC.
DANGER
Danger of electrocution!
In emergency operation the system is supplied with 216 V DC. Coming into contact with voltage-
carrying parts of the system may lead to death or severe injury.

Relevant health and safety regulations must be observed.

Work can only be carried out on the system by authorised personnel wearing appropriate
protective clothing.
w
Lay current-carrying lines, signal and control lines in accordance with relevant applicable
guidelines and standards.
WARNING
Danger of chemical burns from electrolyte!
This system uses batteries containing sulphuric acid electrolyte. Sulphuric acid causes severe
chemical burns on the skin and eyes.

Batteries can only be installed by authorised personnel wearing appropriate protective clothing.

Batteries cannot be drilled into or otherwise damaged.

In case of skin contact with electrolyte: rinse the affected area immediately with water.
Attention
Impaired performance and safety of the system.

Other batteries not prescribed here must not be used.
w
Vehicle starter batteries must not be used.
w
In the case of centrally supplied emergency lighting systems, batteries with a proven service life of
at least ten years must be used at an ambient temperature of 20°C.

Batteries must be set up and maintained in accordance with EN 50272-2 and the battery
manufacturer's recommendations must be followed.
